Is the project dead?

Is Polarity dead? The site looks like it hasn’t changed in years, and the last blog post is from 2016.

Nah, we’re not dead. Rumors of our shutdown are greatly exaggerated. In fact, we’ve recently brought on a new team member to assist with artwork and design. None of us are really good at writing status updates, so please direct your attention here in the meantime to monitor project activity. Beta and Canary channels (downloads on the Viewer Downloads page) both receive regular automatic updates, and we are still working on the project. Hang tight!

We’re working on that, and we will have something to announce concerning a Linux release in the coming weeks.

Christmas. Meow.

We are releasing today because I begged the team to push something out for two months and they finally got tired of my whining. Or was it the bug reports for things we fixed already? I don’t even know anymore. It’s happening, deal with it.

Public Beta

This is our first public release, and I would like to say it was easy to make, and didn’t take us a very long time. The truth is that we’ve been working on making this happen since 2014, and it was much more difficult than any of us imagined. We stuck together, learned a lot, and this is what we have to show for it. Updates are to come, and we sincerely hope you enjoy what we’ve made. If you encounter any issues, please make note of them here for now and we will try our best to remedy them. Meow.

March 2016 status update

No, we’re not dead. We were supposed to release back in June, however things got in the way, I (Xenhat) got burnt out, then Experience Keys and Viewer-managed Marketplace happened. We ran into a situation where it is impossible for us to integrate those changes in our current source, so we had to wait for the right opportunity to start over without losing much of what made Polarity, well, Polarity.

Thanks to Sovereign Engineer’s generosity, we can now reboot the project without sacrificing what we believed in.

Stay tuned. :3
